Arp’s older stock includes frame houses on pier-and-beam foundations over open ground. Those are forgiving structures — individual supports can be adjusted without touching the rest of the house — but they are also easy to neglect, because nothing about them is visible without crawling underneath.

Slab homes out here have a different story
Newer slab construction on Arp acreage runs into the same issue as the rest of the county with one addition: rural lots frequently have no gutters at all.
